Dr. Lin and his research team, using the International\nStandard \u201cIGDT-10\u201d questionnaire, investigated 8110 adolescent gamers in\nTaiwan. The prevalence of gaming disorder was approximately 3.1%. The results\nof this research were officially accepted by the Journal of Behavioral\nAddictions in August 2018. \n\nDr.\nLin\u2019s research team using standardized structured interviews investigated over\n8110 students who have played internet games from elementary, junior high, and\nfirst year high school students from 169 different schools using the definition\nof \u201cInternet Gaming Disorder\u201d as defined by the American Psychiatric\nassociation in order to determine the cutoff for the \u201cIGDT-10\u201d questionnaire.\nThe interviews had three key principles of diagnosis: 1) compulsive use 2)\nimpaired daily functioning 3) symptomatology over 1 year, and not just\n\u201cspending too much time playing.\u201d This more objectively evaluates the pros and\ncons \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
