本團隊透過使用者的留下的數位足跡量化人類的行為與心理狀態,研究群體層次的健康議題。

2020年疫情爆發之初,本團隊率先用Google Trends比較全世界先爆發疫情的幾個國家:發現搜尋「洗手」愈多的國家,疫情爆發的速度較緩慢;而比較沒有搜尋「洗手」的國家,疫情爆發速度較快。這篇發表在國際頂尖期刊Brain, Behavior, and Immunity的研究,一年內已獲引用89次。國際媒體《路透社》(Reuters)、國內知名媒體《報導者》等數十家媒體深度的採訪報導。此篇研究獲台大醫院「率先發表COVID-19相關論文獎」。隨後再用「失眠」、「憂鬱」、「自殺」三個心理健康的關鍵字的搜尋量作為心理健康指標,發現「失眠」是世界各國受疫情影響心理健康最敏感的指標;成果也發表在Journal of Medical Internet Research。
