Digital Biomarkers Lab

We are the research team of Dr. Lin Yu-Hsuan from the National Health Research Institutes.

Our team utilizes the “digital footprint” of smartphones to obtain valuable information from passive data records of human behavior, aiming to more accurately, instantly, and continuously quantify individual psychology and behavior in everyday environments. In the future, in addition to interpreting human psychology and behavior, it is also committed to real-time, intensive, and personalized behavioral intervention and treatment.

We independently developed three mobile applications as below.

Based on behavioral pattern research using passive smartphone data, these apps collect and analyze smartphone data to understand three common daily behaviors of humans: smartphone use, sleep, and work.

Applications

Know Addiction

Accurate Calculation of
Smartphone Usage Time

Recording the phone’s screen on and off, estimating the frequency and duration of a person’s daily smartphone usage

Rhythm

Automated Sleep Tracking

Automatically estimates sleep duration and stability based on smartphone usage behavior.

Work Hour Tracker

Automated Work Hour Recording

Using the phone’s GPS and human-machine interaction data, it calculates work hours with minimal battery consumption through AI-driven automation.
