Overworked Research

Physicians frequently take on heavy workloads and frequent stressful on-call duties while being sleep-deprivated. The severe job stressors in their daily lives negatively impacts their personal mental health, physician-patient communication, job satisfaction, as well as the quality and safety of patient care.  Recently, litigation and criminalization related to medical malpractice in Taiwan have lead to an imbalance in the specialty distribution of medical professionals. Our research examines the risk factors and indicators of physician’s job stress.
